Visual Communication Design Targeted Evaluation Tasks (TET) - Units 1 and 2*

Our Visual Communication Design Targeted Evaluation Tasks (TET) are written by experienced VCE teachers, who are also VCE Exam Assessors. These tasks are available exclusively to schools and are available in electronic or hardcopy format. A variety of tasks are available for both Unit 1 and Unit 2.

Students are not permitted to order these tasks.

The Visual Communication Design Targeted Evaluation Tasks (TET) are offered to schools copyright free for the restricted use of students of that school only.

TSSM's Targeted Evaluation Tasks (TET) are designed to target the key areas of the Study Design for Visual Communication Design. These tasks are a valuable resource with which to assess the coursework components of Unit 1 and 2 Visual Communication Design. All tasks are supplied with full solutions.

Targeted Evaluation Tasks for Visual Communication Design have been prepared for both Units 1 and 2. The following packages are available to schools:

Unit 1 Package includes 6 tasks -

Outcome 1 for Area of Study 1 (One option included):

1. Written report exploring concepts of good design
2. Presentation documenting human-centred research methods and findings
3. Written brief identifying a communication need

Outcome 2 for Area of Study 2 (Two options included):

1. Folio demonstrating the develop and delier stages of the design process
2. a presentation of design concepts for a critique

Outcome 3 for Area of Study 3 (One option included):

1. Folio demonstrating the develop and deliver stages of the design process, to design a sustainable object

Unit 2 Package includes 6 tasks -

Outcome 1 for Area of Study 1 (One options included):

1. Folio demonstrating the dessign process for an environmental design

Outcome 2 for Area of Study 2 (Four options included):

1. Investigation of culturally appropriate designing practices, presented in an extended written response
2. Investigation of culturally appropriate designing practices, presented in a short answer responses supportes by visual references
3. Investigation of culturally appropriate designing practices, presented in an annotated visual report
4. Folio of design exercises to create personal iconography

Outcome 3 for Area of Study 3 (One option included):

1. Folio demonstrating the design process using manual and digital methods

These tasks provide teachers with a degree of flexiblity when setting assessment tasks for their students. While TSSM thoroughly checks the accuracy and relevance of these Targeted Evaluation Tasks (TET), prior to assessing students, it is the individual school's responsibility to ensure that these are an appropriate form of assessment.

*Unit 1 Targeted Evaluation Tasks (TET) will be released on February 6, 2025 and Unit 2 will be released on May 29, 2025. Orders made in advance are welcome.
