Teaching Philosophy:
Hayley is dedicated to improving art education in Victoria (& wider areas when including online classes) and improving creative industries within the education system. Hayley believes that art, education and community are all intertwined and operate with each other. Hayley engages in art programs in her classroom to enrich her students' learning, inviting local artists into our classroom to teach the students about their practice and mediums. Hayley uses programs and exhibitions in partnership with the NGV and other galleries to support curriculum and enhance students’ education experience.
Hayley has always and continues to demonstrate a high level of motivation in her career and when assisting her students’ learning because she believes that the arts enrich our lives and allow us to thrive creatively. The arts are an integral part of our community in Australia as a whole and she feels as though all students should have an opportunity to participate in this fully. The arts help to develop her students as learners, problem solvers and as members of the wider community for years to come thereafter.
Interests:
Hayley collects film cameras, paint frequently, teach life drawing on a casual basis seasonally for local galleries in the Gippsland region and she has read a wide array of books from sci-fi to crime thrillers.
