Rashad's passion and interest for Global Politics began in 1998, when he first entered university. Whilst studying a Master of International Relations at Monash University he received a Dean’s Award for Outstanding Academic Results. Currently, his Ph.D., thesis is being reviewed as a potential book to be published by Routledge Studies in US Foreign Policy.

Since 2020 Rashad has been a contributor to Independent Australia writing short-form essays on Global Politics and the media. Rashad's Global Politics articles cover many of the issues currently studied in VCE Global Politics, most notably in relation to the rise of China, the South China Sea, US politics and the War on Terror. Therefore, unlike other VCE Global Politics teachers, his breadth of knowledge of international relations allows him to comfortably discuss the many different branches that VCE Global Politics addresses in the study design.

Rashad is also a VCE teacher of Business Management and History: Revolutions (China, America and Russia), which he thoroughly enjoys teaching in addition to Global Politics.

Rashad is also a very effective writer who loves to prepare VCE resources that are used by thousands of students and teachers alike.
